Palm Pilot Software

A few years ago, as in about 10 "few" years ago, I wrote a couple of programs for my new Palm Pilot IIIx. That original Palm IIIx has long ago been banished to the great broken LCD place in the sky, but these programs live on. Since the original Palm, I had another IIIx that didn't survive a high-speed encounter with the ground, a Handspring Visor Neo which also didn't survive my travel habits, a Sony CLIÉ PEG SL-10 which I gave to my son, and a Sony CLIÉ PEG TJ-35.

This page has the programs I wrote for PALM OS. They are specific to the chosen task, and are barely useful outside of their desired task, but that may just be the sign of a better program. Or, they may just be a little bit useful to someone else....who knows?

Baby A Contraction Timer

I wrote Baby when my (now ex-) wife was pregnant with our 2nd child. It is a simple stopwatch program designed to time the duration of and interval between contractions. I wanted a simple program to just do the basics of contraction measurement.

Unfortunately, I didn't finish the program before Jordan was born, but a few weeks later.

The irony of it all is the 18 hours we spent in the hospital, mostly in labor, and mostly during the time when this program would have been perfect!

X-Weight - a weight distribution calculator

X-Weight

Download X-Weight (.prc) HERE - (Tested on Palm OS 3.1 - 5.2.1)

Have an iPhone? There is also an iPhone version of this program called Cross Weight. You can GET Cross Weight HERE from the iTunes AppStore
(link will launch iTunes)

X-Weight is a cross-weight calculator for 4-wheeled vehicles. I wrote it during my kart racing days to help with properly setting up weigh distribution. It is a fairly simple program where you enter the measured weight at each of the four wheels and it calculates each all of the relevant (Front/Rear, Left/Right, Diagonal, etc...) sums and percentages.

X-Weight will also maintain 4 separate measurements, on different pages, so you can easily switch back and forth to compare different measurements. Having 4 pages also allows you to test what-if scenarios with different wheel weights.

For more information on setting up corner weights, here is a good article from Grassroots Motorsports magazine: http://www.grmotorsports.com/news/012005/understanding-corner-weights.php

The source code for X-Weight is also available on request. Just send me an email and I will send the source to you.

Please send feedback if you successfully ran X-Weight on Palm OS 5.x
